In 2022, the personnel from T.A.S.K, The Father Center NJ, and Workwell Partnership commenced regular meetings to deliberate on employment opportunities for their clients and to exchange beneficial information regarding partners and non-profits, with a primary emphasis on identifying employers. By October 2023, this initial group had expanded to incorporate additional organizations from governmental and corporate/business sectors and MCRC was formally established. To date, the coalition continues to grow, welcoming numerous new organizations. Consequently, the focus of the group has evolved to adopt a more holistic approach concerning reentry efforts in Mercer County. This comprehensive approach now encompasses pre-release, release, and reintegration programming, resources, and opportunities.

It is imperative to recognize and commend the remarkable efforts of the former Mercer County Reentry Task Force in advancing second-chance initiatives within the county. Ultimately, one of the primary objectives of the MCRC is to perpetuate the crucial role previously fulfilled by this esteemed body in the community.
